CHRISTMAS IS APPROACHING (duh) and for me this means MORE VELVET, as much velvet as is possible. Last week I managed to squeeze it in twice, in the form of a charity shop steal and THE WHITEPEPPER DREAM DRESS, not too shabby.
(Could I look any more tired?!)
This whole outfit is a charity shop special! Funnily enough, both pieces come with matching partners, but I’m still working on how to make the co-ords look trendy and less home made. The skirt originated as a size 18 1950’s tea dress and now exists as a mini skirt and crop top, whereas the top’s other half has remained in the bag whilst I try to think how to make a size 26 skirt look just right/fit.
Thus, while my creative juices flow (slowly) these two bits did not go to waste!
Another attempt at a somewhat co-ord (one of these days, I’ll own a real one I’m sure of it). This time, pattern matching was too much, so I went for tonessss et voila!
Working makes Friday’s really, really, really exciting, so exciting that it deserves velvet AND sequins, and this comes in the form of the whitepepper dream that I just won’t stop talking about. Not everyone will feel the same about this dress, (although I would be surprised) but for me it could not get better. If it was green, it would be the dress I literally dreamt about.
FYI – it has pockets. Need I say more.
DRESS: the whitepepper
NECKLACE: New Look
Let the run-up to Christmas continue! The additional excuse to dress up is pretty fun.
Last weekend was a weekend full of wine and loose dresses – the best kind of weekend if you ask me. I wore my two newest dresses, and, coincidently, the baggiest. I’ve hit the smock trend hard recently and it has been a GREAT decision.
WHITEPEPPER ALERT! This is one of my first working gal treats as these dresses tend to be a bit too pricey, but a girl deserves a treat every now and again and when they have pockets it makes it all the better!
This combines everything wonderful there is about autumn/winter style – velvet, smock, red and BURNOUT! And I got it on sale. HOLLA at me!
NECKLACE: New Look
IT’S ALMOST THE WEEKEND!
As promised, I’ve risen 5 minutes earlier than usual twice this week in order to capture the effort of my outfits.
Inspired by my planned outing to Winter Wonderland, I made my Wednesday outfit SPARKLY and wore this old eBay buy that I ended up cutting in half (told ya so).
CROP TOP: Topshop
BOMBER JACKET: Primark
Another funnnnn texture – the FUR GILET! This one tends to add about 17 inches to my width but it’s a bit more expensive looking than the old Primark one (surprisingly). I kind of think the 17 additional inches were worth it.
SKIRT: New Look
I’m still holding back on the whitepepper dreams but they won’t be on the rails for much longerrr… watch this space.
My working world has been, surprisingly, full of work and had caused me to disappear into commuting, cocktails and early, dark mornings. I am not complaining! Oh no! Because of this working world, this wonderful furry scarf has entered my life and has become my constant comfort – stroking it more than is probably acceptable. Her name is miffy (the fact that ‘she’ has a name should indicate just how soft and furry a scarf this is).
Anyways – I have been trying hard with my office outfits and am yet to give in to the cold and dark by throwing on the nearest jumper, my impracticality lives on ( yay?). Unfortunately, I have no proof as I have not taken a snap of an outfit for about 3 weeks, WHOOPS! I will try harder, especially because my wardrobe has had some fabulous new arrivals (including a whitepepper dream) that should be shared with more than just my office!
Here are a few office outfits that I managed to photograph:
TOP: Bellbottom Vintage
(P)LEATHER SKIRT: ASOS
LOAFERS: New Look
CROP TOP: Topshop
SEQUIN WAISTCOAT: my pal Rosa
Happy first of December, all!
Hola! It’s been a while, but now I’ve entered the working world that comes with commuting and early mornings, outfit snaps don’t quite make the cut at 7am.
ALAS, the weekend is rid of those things, and last weekend I celebrated my fave holiday (?) that is HALLOWEEN! And this is what I wore.
ALL handmade of course.
Words of wisdom – avoid the Poundland face paint this weekend, it gave me a rash and that is TOO scary even at halloween!
IT’S HAPPENED!!! I’M EMPLOYED! IN A BUYING ROLE!! I can barely believe it. My life plan is actually falling into place. I could not be more happy and excited, but that’s my gushing over.
TONIGHT I am going to see dream queen Ellie Goulding at the final date of her tour and as a huge fan, I am totally pumped.
I bought this top for the perfect office to dancefloor outfit and, even though I’m not starting out on an office, I’m very excited to party away in it because these tassels are so much FUN!!
Lipstick shall of course be added (I’m thinking my new fave MAC Rebel) but I’m going to be eating A LOT of fried chicken before then – we’re heading to joe’s southern kitchen, watch this space – WHAT A GREAT DAY!!
TASSEL TOP: Topshop
DISCO PANTS: Primark
(With a little luck, now I’ll have some income, maybe we’ll see less Primark on these sections and more WHISTLES – dreamy)
No, they didn’t hire me on the spot SURPRISINGLY but I have been working in my trusty temporary office and this is what I wore to work TODAY!
I sewed those buttons myself FYI!
SHIRT: Primark – customised fun buttons from C&H fabrics
DRESS: Vintage eBay
